New Law in US Makes Insulin More Affordable For Many Diabetics

diabetes, blood sugar, diabetic, inflation reduction act.

The cost of prescriptions is always a concern for those who have chronic and serious diseases. Many of my patients fume over how much they are paying for something they see as essential. As part of President Biden’s “Inflation Reduction Act”, the price of insulin for patients with Medicare will be capped at $35 (or less) per month. While the law doesn’t cover all diabetics, it does help those older folks who may be on a fixed income and may be dealing with multiple chronic conditions. This can also help family caregivers who may be providing financial assist to their loved ones.
